CIA Director John Ratcliffe on Tuesday blew up Jeffrey Goldberg’s claim that an undercover CIA agent was a part of the Signal chat group during a hearing before the Senate Intel Committee.
Ratcliffe also confirmed that Signal is approved for work use and that the previous administration communicated using the double-encrypted app.
It was reported on Monday that Jeffrey Goldberg, the anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, claimed he was accidentally added to a secure Signal group chat where top Trump administration officials discussed sensitive military operations against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
According to Jeffrey Goldberg, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance were in a Signal group called “Houthi PC small group,” discussing plans to strike terrorists in Yemen.
Rather than exiting the chat group, Goldberg took screenshots and published a report in The Atlantic.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe blew up the left-wing media’s narrative on the government’s use of Signal.
Ratcliffe also debunked Jeffrey Goldberg’s claim that an undercover CIA agents was on the Signal app.
In his piece in The Atlantic, Goldberg refused to identify one of the members of the Signal group chat claiming they were an undercover agent.
Ratcliffe said the individual in question was just a staffer who was helping coordinate the meeting.
Additionally, Ratcliffe said the use of Signal was authorized during the Biden Administration.
