A meeting was held on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office, attended by senior members of the defense establishment and the political echelon.
The meeting focused on the developing challenges in Judea and Samaria, and particularly the actions of the Hilltop Youth and aspects of governance on the ground.
Central Command Commanding Officer Avi Bluth opened the meeting: „The writing is on the wall. In the farms, you have normative people, and in the outposts, there are rioters and violent offenders.“
Minister of Settlement Affairs, Orit Strock, addressed his remarks and emphasized: “There are farms and there are outposts, and they are different,“ aiming to distinguish between types of settlements on the ground rather than set a uniform policy toward all of them.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized the policy of evictions and said, „The outposts also have good people. You can’t evict an outpost, and at the same time, you won’t evict Arabs who also build illegally in Judea and Samaria.“ According to the Minister, there must be a uniform policy for the entire population.
During the meeting, Shin Bet Director David Zini addressed the Attorney General’s representatives and said: „If taking control of territory is terrorism, then taking control of the Negev is also terrorism.“
