Ayman Abu Khalil, a senior Hamas terrorist originally from Beit Hanina, has been identified as a central architect of Hamas terrorism in the Palestinian Authority territories, according to a report by Kan 11 News.
Abu Khalil was released as part of the Shalit deal and relocated to Turkey, where he established his operational base. From abroad, he remotely directs terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria, activating local cells and coordinating attacks.
The report stated that Abu Khalil is deeply involved in transferring large sums of money to support Hamas’s military wing in the region. He is also reportedly facilitating the smuggling of weapons and military expertise from overseas.
In recent months, he has intensified his operations in the Ramallah and Hebron areas, seeking to bolster the organization’s capabilities in Judea and Samaria. This activity is part of a broader Hamas strategy to shift focus to the area, following the extensive damage to its infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
